Bitter Sweet
It’s hard to believe that our European adventure is coming to a close; only seven days left until we’re back on Canadian soil. It’s a bitter sweet feeling.
We’ve enjoyed every minute of this trip and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to make this dream a reality, but we will be the first to admit that we are tired. I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise; in the last four months the longest we’ve stayed in one place is ten days. Picking up and moving to a new location every few days is exhausting. So for this reason we are looking forward to being back in Winnipeg for about six weeks over the Christmas season.
On the other hand it is really hard for us to leave Europe not knowing if we will have the chance to come back in the future. There are so many places we weren’t able to visit and many of them are only a short train ride from where we are right now!
But as this chapter comes to a close we are already excited for the ones that lay ahead. We are looking forward to seeing family and friends back in Canada and celebrating Christmas together. We can’t wait for the adventure of returning to Haiti in January and we’ll wait and see what’s in store after that.
As I’ve been thinking about the future I’ve realized that I don’t want to look back on life wishing I’d done this or that. I want to live life to the fullest. So let’s dream big; we’ve only got one shot.
